My Jamaican Gal

We’ve always known that Grace Jones is major. She is one individual that has ultimately been able to rock an afro so hard, it could make even a straight-haired lady perm her hair pinning for Grace’s look. And for those brave of heart which we might add included Jean-Michel Basquiat, maybe even to shave back your hairline, for that precise framing coif.

It’s incredible to think that her iconic looks still remain influential and inspiring despite more than three decades passing since her heyday. Putting aside the insipidness of afro hair styles since her reign – we definitely still bow at the alter of Grace. So here is a big up to our Jamaican gal, Grace Jones and to all her hair stylists that knew, the best thing about an afro is that you can shape it within an inch of it’s life to have the most spectacular of silhouettes.
