We begin the inaugural ‘In Focus’ series this month with Japanese artist Megumi Matsubara who spent the month of March 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya on an art residency. From the moment she arrived in the city, she began photographically documenting her days.
On view are a series of selected images gathered from ‘Simultaneous Diary: A Day in Nairobi, her visual diary reflecting a partial memory of various scenarios, moments, situations and encounters as she gradually immersed and familiarised herself with her surroundings.
